<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a ventilation hole through which foreign matters hard to enter and which is adjustable in opening amount. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical valve cylinder 13b is projected around the ventilation hole 13 provided on a lid body 12 of this food container 10. A valve body 15 comprising a flange 15a and a cylindrical guide 15b is attached freely slidably in the protruding direction by fitting the valve body 15 in the valve cylinder 13b. A truncated cone shape protrusion 14 is provided at the center of the ventilation hole 13, and by the descent of the valve body 15, the protrusion 14 is fitted in a through hole 16 of the flange 15a and closes the hole, and at the same time, the flange 15a closes the upper surface of the valve cylinder 13b. Having the truncated cone shape, the protrusion 14 is easy to join to the inner periphery of the through hole 16, and airtightness of the container is increased. Also, by the ascent of the valve body 15, the protrusion 14 is removed from the through hole 16, and the ventilation hole 13 is opened. In this case, since the protrusion 14 is located under the through hole 16, foreign matters are hard to drop inside. In addition, if a date scale 19 is provided on the upper surface of the valve body 15, both of the opening/closing operational function of the ventilation hole 13 and the date display function can be performed by the valve body.
