<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap which can surely seal-store a raw material or the like which is enveloped in a housing chamber at a low cost, and a sealing mechanism for a container having a simple structure of the cap, and attachment to the container can be easily performed, and a cut ring can be attached. <P>SOLUTION: The cap (1) is equipped with a plug part (4) and a sealing plug (5) made of a resin. The plug has a top board (11) which seals an opening part (3) of the container (2), a side wall (12) which protrudes from the top board along the axis (X), and the inner peripheral surface of which is screwed with the outer peripheral surface of the opening part, and a cylindrical wall (15) which protrudes from the top board on the inside of the side wall, and forms the housing chamber (14) formed with an opening (13) on the lower end surface. The sealing plug has an outer diameter (D1) which is larger than the outer diameter (D2) of the cylindrical wall, and is welded to the lower end surface of the cylindrical wall in a state that the housing chamber is filled with a filling article (16). In the sealing mechanism, the cylindrical wall which is loosely fitted in a sleeve (6) is fitted with the sealing plug, and the opening is sealed.
