PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control process of an air conditioner which can prevent vibration of a decompression valve provided in a bypass tube of an interior unit or noises caused thereby at the time of cooling and dehumidifying operations and can thus perform smooth cooling and dehumidifying operations. SOLUTION: At the time of start of cooling and dehumidifying operations, in the case where the temperature of an exterior heat exchanger 7 is a predetermined value or less, the operation is temporally switched from the cooling and dehumidifying operation to a cooling operation. Then, the cooling operation is continued for a predetermined period of time, thereby reducing the pressure differential between a branching section A and a branching section B located at both ends of a bypass tube 13 provided with a second expansion valve 15.
