PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To get a highly precise current by compensating a current error between a power current of a PWM converter and a generated current based on a carrier removing filter by a control system. SOLUTION: In a PWM converter 2 which carries out the PI operation of deviation between current commands I<SB>R1u</SB>and I<SB>R1w</SB>from a current command calculating part 11 and converter-generated currents I<SB>2u</SB>and I<SB>2w</SB>from CT<SB>1u</SB>and CT<SB>1w</SB>by PI controllers 43 and 44, a filter compensating circuit 20 which rectifies the current error based on a filter 3 is provided between the current command calculating part 11 and the PI controllers 43 and 44 so as to compensate the current error. Since the filter compensating circuit 20 is constituted based on a relational formula which expresses a converter current command Ir where filter characteristics and a control system are taken into consideration from the current command I<SB>R</SB>, properties of the filter affecting the current error, the power voltage, a P gain and an I gain of current control, etc., this can compensate for the current error of the PWM controller based on the carrier moving filter by a control system.
