PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an FDD device capable of preventing reading errors, even when the pulse interval of READ DATA is narrowed and adjacent READ DATA pulses are regarded as one pulse in the case of the conventional device, when a data transfer speed is made faster than that specified for a read circuit. SOLUTION: The READ DATA signal of a read circuit is not directly inputted to a flexible disk controller 2, it is decided that adjacent pulses are joined when a READ DATA pulse width is long, and the signal is inputted to the flexible disk controller 2 via a circuit (READ DATA pulse shaping circuit 3) which outputs a separated and reproduced pulse by narrowing the pulse width.
