PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of a recorder by effectively using an ATIP address for the address decoding processing of a high-density recording disk. SOLUTION: When data is recorded in a optical disk having first address information given for each first recording area of a predetermined recording density by using second address information given for each second recording area which logically divides the first recording area, this optical disk device is capable of recording the second address information in the second recording area and recording data at a recording density higher than the predetermined recording density. The device is provided with a first address information inspection means for inspecting the first address information read from the optical disk, and a control means for controlling the recording/reproducing of the data by using the read first address information or the second address information read from the optical disk.
