PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertically shingled roof easily attaining firm fixing without danger. SOLUTION: In this vertically shingled roof, a grooved board 2 is dropped between laterally adjacent clips 1, 1, but at this time, a side face part 22 of the grooved board 2 is inserted between a holding projecting part 15 of the clip 1 and an abutted part 10, and a lower forming part 26 is put on the holding projecting part 15, while a lower locking part 26a is fitted to a locked part 15a, and further a covering part 23 is fitted to the upper edge of an erected part 16. A cap 3 is then put on the left and right grooved boards 2, 2 fitted to the clips 1, and when fitting parts 32, 32 are fitted to projecting parts 22a, 22a of the grooved boards 2, 2, a part lower than the projecting part 22a at the side face part 22 of the grooved board 2 is allowed to abut on the abutted part 10 of the clip 1, and a first abutting part 33a of the cap 3 is further allowed to abut on the abutting part.
