WATERPROOF SHEET JOINING DEVICE AND JOINING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform welding of high sealing performance by removing creases of a waterproof sheet. SOLUTION: This waterproof sheet joining device 1 for joining a circumferentially extended overlap part 7 of a newly installed waterproof sheet 5 and an existing waterproof sheet 6 wound up in cylindrical shape in a tunnel boring machine 2, is provided with a waterproof sheet receiving frame 9 formed along the inner periphery of a tail frame 8; a welding device 11 for welding the overlap part while moving along the overlap part of the newly installed waterproof sheet 5 and existing waterproof sheet 6 wound in cylindrical shape along the inner peripheries; and a waterproof sheet crease removing device 12 positioned ahead in the proceeding direction to press the newly installed waterproof sheet 5 toward the inner peripheral surface of the waterproof sheet receiving frame 9, to stretch the creases, preceding welding by the welding device 11.
