A problem exists in that the mechanism of an outside diameter adjuster of a folding cylinder is complicated and this adjuster has precise processing parts so that the adjuster is often broken and it is difficult to repair the adjuster and adjusting accuracy is low. To solve this problem, an outside diameter adjuster of a folding cylinder in this invention has a basic body 10 having a columnar outer circumferential face rotated integrally with a basic body rotating shaft 11, and a first gear 12 rotated integrally with the basic body rotating shaft 11. The outside diameter adjuster also has a fourth gear 13, a fifth gear 14, and an outside diameter adjusting operating mechanism. The fourth gear 13 and the fifth gear 14 can be rotated integrally with the basic body rotating shaft 11 and the first gear 12 and can be also rotated with respect to the basic body rotating shaft 11. The outside diameter adjusting operating mechanism is rotated integrally with a second gear 20 engaged with the first gear 12 and a third gear 21 engaged with the fourth gear 13 and can be moved in the direction of a rotating central axis. The basic body 10 has a shaft 102, an eccentric portion 103, an outer circumferential member 105, an angular displacing force giving means 106 for angularly displacing the shaft 102 in one direction, and a sixth gear 15 engaged with the fifth gear 14. At least one of a gear pair of the first gear 12 and the second gear 20 and a gear pair of the third gear 21 and the fourth gear 13 is mutually constructed by helical gears. <IMAGE> |
