<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor driving device which has a simple configuration and is highly reliable and efficient, by not wasting generated output of a solar battery when solar radiation is weak and by operating the battery highly efficiently when solar radiation is strong. <P>SOLUTION: The motor driving device has a solar battery, a power conversion means which converts power from the solar battery and supplies it to the motor, and a power storage means connected to the solar battery in parallel for storing power. The motor driving device comprises: a timer means for presetting a period of an independent power supply mode for driving the motor only by an output of the solar battery; a switching means inserted between a joint of the solar battery, the power storage means, and the power conversion means, and the power storage means; an output value detecting means which detects an output value of the solar battery; and a switching control means which controls the switching means by turning the switching means ON during the period of the independent power supply mode and based on a signal output by the output value detecting means except the period of the independent power supply mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
