<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a driver or front passenger from touching a fiber part of a high-temperature gas bag cover and receiving a thermal load. <P>SOLUTION: In an airbag for driver or occupant on front passenger seat having a gas bag which can be inflated in a head-on collision to protect the vehicle occupant, the gas bag includes two gas bag sections separated from one another on a front side facing the occupant of the inflated gas bag and a gap is formed between the gas bag sections on the front side facing the occupant of the gas bag. This gap is spanned by a sheet so that, in the case of an impact directed toward the front side of the gas bag, the occupant to be protected is prevented from penetrating into the gap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
