PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens hood by which a finger or the like is prevented from inadvertently getting into a photographic image plane at the time of photographing, and also whose operability in the case of using a filter is remarkably improved in spite of simple structure while restraining manufacture cost. SOLUTION: An annular elastic member for protection 2 composed of rubber or the like is fit all over the periphery of the edge of a lens hood main body 1. The elastic member 2 is formed to be swollen to the outside in a radial direction from the outer peripheral surface of the main body 1. Thus, a level difference 2a having specified height and functioning as a sensing part depending on tactile sensation is formed on the side surface of the camera side. In the case of performing photographing while holding the lens hood, especially, when the finger is put on a notched part 1c corresponding to the diagonal direction of the image plane, such a position is clearly discriminated depending on the tactile sensation because there exists the level difference 2a, whereby the finger or the like is prevented from getting into the photographic image plane at the time of photographing.
