PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nail capable of being driven into a timber used for a framework wall method of construction or a conventional framework construction method without causing any crach in the timber and having a joining strength. SOLUTION: In the vicinity of the vertex 13 of a top end portion 12 of the nail 10 used for the framework wall method of construction or the conventional framework construction method, a flat surface 14 having a diameter in the range of 20% to 35% of the diameter of a shank 11 and a width in the range of 1 mm to 1.5 mm.
