PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmitting chain having great power transmitting performance without giving surface damage to the end faces of pins and sheave surfaces for a long period even when used in slide contact in a boundary lubricated state under the conditions of high torque and high contact pressure. SOLUTION: The power transmitting chain 1 comprises a plurality of links 2 and the plurality of pins 3 connecting these to one another. The chain 1 is bridged between first and second pulleys and has slide contact between end faces 3a, 3b of the pins 3 and the sheave surfaces of the first and second pulleys. For this purpose, the contour line of each pin 3 on the side of the end faces 3a, 3b is a logarithmic curve in the axially sectional view thereof. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
