<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the detection capacity for an abnormal shadow candidate in the image of a subject in an abnormal shadow detection device. <P>SOLUTION: A candidate region detection means 10 equipped with one or more kinds of detection processing means 11-14 is constituted so that the candidate region is detected on the basis of image data P showing the image of the subject by each of the detection processing means.
