<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the reduction of a load to a main lip 12 owing to the pressure of a sealing space S1 and setting of the vibration damping characteristic due to frictional force appropriately. <P>SOLUTION: This device is provided with an oil seal 1 where an inner circumference edge of the main lip 12 facing the sealing space S1 is brought in contact with an outer periphery of a reciprocation spindle 102 between a cylinder body 101 and the reciprocation spindle 102 inserted in the inner circumference of the body 101, and an elastic ring 3 and a backup ring 4 positioned at the sealing space S1 side of the oil seal 1 and arranged in a support part 2c formed at a rod guide 2.
