<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of acquiring uniform gas detectability regardless of the gas flow direction. <P>SOLUTION: This gas sensor 10 is equipped with an inner cover 12 enclosing a sensor element 11, having a bottom wall 14 and a side wall 15, and having one or more holes 16, 17 on the bottom wall and the side wall respectively, and an outer cover 13 enclosing the inner cover, having a bottom wall 18 and a side wall 19, and having one or more holes 20, 21 on the bottom wall and the side wall respectively. The sensor is characterized by being provided with a gas passage 22 for directly communicating a space 24 between the sensor element and the inner cover with a space 25 on the outside of the outer cover bypassing a space 23 between the inner and outer covers, spreading over the side wall 15 of the inner cover and the side wall 19 of the outer cover. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
