<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an printing device which can control a communication method according to a decided/undecided model, and printing device control method. <P>SOLUTION: As a printing device which can communicate with information processing device, the device is so composed that it operates as a model selected by an model setting operation. It is equipped with a judging method to judge whether the model of the printing device is decided or undecided.
