PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoconductive image forming member having excellent photoinduction discharge characteristics, and repetition and environmental stabilities. SOLUTION: The photoconductive image forming member comprises a hole barrier layer, a light emitting layer, and a charge transport layer, wherein the hole barrier layer contains, for example, a metal oxide and a mixture of a phenol compound and a phenolic resin, and the phenol compound may contain at least two phenol radicals.
