PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a releasing agent from being transferred and attached to the image carrier and intermediate transfer body of a double-sided image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A surface electrifying part 80 which electrifies the surface (face with a toner image fixed thereon) of paper P to a positive polarity and a back electrifying part 90 which electrifies the back (face on which a toner image is subsequently to be formed) to a negative polarity are disposed in a return path 73 along which the paper P with the toner image formed thereon is inverted and conveyed. Oil attached to the back of the paper P in a fixing part 60 is electrified to the negative polarity by the back electrifying part 90. This prevents the oil attached to the back from being transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 15 when the paper P enters a secondary transfer part 20 again. Also, the oil attached to the surface of the paper P in the fixing part 60 is electrified to the positive polarity by the surface electrifying part 80. This prevents the oil attached to the surface from being transferred to the secondary transfer conveyance belt 21 when the paper P enters the secondary transfer part 20 again.
