<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion sheet which has an excellent antistatic performance regardless of the polymer characteristic and the content or the like of the components of the binder of a light diffusion layer, and to provide a back light unit which does not bring about unevenness of luminosity and a decrease in luminosity due to a thermal deformation, and further does cause the lowering of the operability due to the electrifying of electrostatic charge. <P>SOLUTION: The light diffusion sheet is provided with a transparent base material layer 2 and a light diffusion layer 3 which is layered on the front surface side of the base material layer 2, the light diffusion layer 3 has a light diffusion material 6 in the binder 5, the binder 5 includes a base material polymer. The light diffusion sheet is characterized in that the front and/or back surfaces of the light diffusion sheet are provided with an antistatic layer 4 formed by applying an anti static material.
