PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver capable of being downsized and being made multifunctional by efficiently using an operation key combinedly, and to provide a broadcast receiving method. SOLUTION: The reproduction of recording media 22, 30 is controlled at a state that a mode is switched from a receiving mode of data broadcast to a reproduction mode of the recording media 22, 30 by first keys 19e to 19i for selecting a desired alternative from a menu displayed based on received data broadcast contents.
