A combination for regulating the viscosity of surfactant-containing systems contains: (a) an inorganic salt; (b) an adduct of 2-200 moles of ethylene oxide (EO) on castor oil and hydrogenated castor oil; and (c) an adduct of 0-60 moles of EO on mono-, di- and tri-esters of (un)saturated fatty acids with glycerol.
