A respiratory aid (10) is disclosed for maintaining the passage of air through the upper airway of a patient. The respiratory aid (10) comprises a tubular airway (12) having a first end (14) adapted, in use, to be retained between a patient's teeth and a second end (17) extending, in use, into the patient's oropharynx. A portion of the first end (14) of the tubular airway (12) is coated with an elastomeric material, thereby reducing the likelihood of injury to the patient during use. The second end 17 of the respiratory aid 10 may also be coated with elastomeric material. |
