PURPOSE: A joint design for welding two galvanized steel pieces with a laser is provided to bend one galvanized steel piece from the other steel piece and to perform a laser welding in a set area. CONSTITUTION: A joint design for executing a laser beam welding to molecularly bond two protected and coated steel pieces together is composed of steps for overlapping at least first and second metal materials to make the first metal have a part branched off from the second metal material; determining an area(42) for performing a laser welding operation with extending between first and second edges and having a specified width; and executing the laser welding in the area. A gap area has a maximum gap decided by y=0.2(R) in which y is the maximum gap. R is a minimum thickness of one of first and second metal sheets(10,20). |
