The system has a fuel tank, a fuel filter, a fuel return system into the tank (1) and a high pressure generator that pressurizes the fuel to at least 1000 bar. A gas separator (5) is arranged before the high pressure generator (9) between the fuel filter and the high pressure generator. A return line of the high pressure generator opens into the upper region of the gas separator.
