PURPOSE: A seat forming member of a child-care instrument and a head protector are provided to sufficiently protect the head part of a baby when in a bed state. CONSTITUTION: The seat forming member(10), which is attached to a child-care instrument convertible between a chair state and a bed state and forms a seat, comprises a backrest wall(12) and a vertex wall(13), the vertex wall being bent so as to form an angle in a forward direction relative to the backrest wall. The seat forming member(10) is provided with a pair of lateral protecting members(14b) extending from the vertex wall(13) to both lateral directions. Each of the lateral protecting members(14b) is guided to side walls of the seat when in a bed state, bent forward from the vertex wall(13), and positioned on the backrest wall(12).
