The load lifting device includes an outer arc (5) with a second arc, namely the load arc (12) inside it turning on a lower axis. The load arc is connected to the outer arc by a block and tackle (9). A load (16) can be hung on the load arc and lifted by using the block and tackle to raise the load arc to the vertical, after which it can easily be moved to either side before lowering it.
