Venturi device with exit orifice of reduced size and elongate cross-section

A venturi device is disclosed which comprises a fluid conduit (154) with an internal bore terminating in an exit orifice (155) of reduced dimension, wherein the exit orifice (155) is of elongate cross-section. Venturi moulding apparatus is also disclosed which comprises a venturi moulding tool and a mould. The venturi moulding tool includes a shaft for forming an internal bore which terminates in a tip of reduced cross-sectional area relative to the shaft for forming an exit orifice (155). The tip has an elongate cross-sectional shape and the mould includes a recess adapted to receive an end portion of the tip of the venturi moulding tool. The disclosed invention is of particular use in the field of inhalation therapy.
