The dowel (10) for the fitting of components on concrete pavements has a body (11) which is hollow and which in the front portion had a tapering section (13) which changes into a conically widening section (15) at the front end of the dowel. The tapered section is encompassed with clearance by a clasp (14) which has barbs on the outer side. The body and clasp are manufactured from sheet metal, and the dowel is a stamped out component. At the rear end of the dowel there is a head (12) which has a larger diameter than the body.
