Joint fitting for miter cutted panels

The connecting fitting (1) for two mitred panel components (3,4) consists of a female section (5) fitted in a countersunk hole (7) in the first panel component and conforming to the mitre cut, and a male section (6) fitted in a countersunk hole (8) in the second panel component and similarly conforming to the mitred cut, whereby the male section has a connecting bolt (10) protruding into the female section. The female section has a socket (11) for gripping behind the retaining head (9) of the connecting bolt. When the connecting fitting is assembled the longitudinal axis of the connecting bolt extends perpendicularly to the mitre joint (12).
