The chair is equipped with a seat carrying construction (5) assembled of a swivel mounted (8) front and rear part (7). The seat can be adjusted regarding its level of inclination with a spring, adjustable in length and swivel mounted between front and rear part (7). The parts (7) can be locked in a pre-selected position as required by the particular user. The locking device is assembled of a latch (51) with a cylindrical extension (53) engaging with one of several recesses (58) located at the curved upper edge (57) of a triangular element (54) rotating around a transversally positioned bolt (55).
