A support structure (2) has two supports (3,4) mounted to pivot around pivot axis and attached to framework of head restraint cushion (1). The supports have arc-shaped curves (10,11) attached to pivot axis by locking arms (17,18) having locking device (24) with locking recess that interacts with another locking device having a locking plate (30) that can be moved axially and is guided not to move in rotation direction. - The locking devices and the locking plate are comprised in a locking mechanism (23) that locks the foldable head restraint in in-use position. The head restraint cushion is supported on the support structure, and a fixing bracket attaches the head restraint to the backrest of a vehicle seat. The supports extend through an opening (13) in the upper portion of the backrest. The pivot axis is used as the center of curvature of the arc-shaped curves of the supports so that the supports can be rotated around the pivot axis in unchanged path of movement without lateral movement. |
