摘要 <p>Augmentation of the quantity of carbon (4) consumed at the tuyeres (2) of a shaft furnace (1), preferably a blast furnace in which a part of the carbon gasification reactions, that is to say the cracking and partial oxidation reactions of certain volatile components, as well as a partial gasification of the formed semi-coke, is effected outside the furnace in an adequately pressurized reactor (11). Due to the heat discharged by the carbon oxidation reactions, the mixture of semi-coke and gas is carried to a temperature of between 900 and 1300 [deg] C. A more significant part of the residence time of the particles in the turbulent zone is devoted to the phenomenon of semi-coke gasification. An independent claim is also included for a device for putting this method into service and comprising a pressurized reactor equipped with a natural gas burner and connected to the furnace tuyeres.</p>
