The device is for tightening a strap or similar when lashing goods, particularly for transport onto trailers or lorries, for mooring boats of varying sizes, for vertical lifting, or for moving objects over short distances at ground level. It comprises a frame (1) with side walls (3,4) for connecting its functional parts, which include a shaft (2) for fixing a strap, line, rope or hawser. - At least one of the frame side walls incorporates a movable bar and the rotatable shaft runs through the frame walls. The shaft in an axial direction has an elongated aperture (8). At one end of the shaft is a drive (6), which in side perspective preferably has the shape of a polygon, whilst the other end of the shaft incorporates a catch (5), which locates against a sprung unit. The shaft is movable laterally. The bar locates temporarily against one of the drive flat surfaces and rests at the same time on a stop (15). |
