PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for changing a color gamut of a color image are provided to optimize a required quantity of memory and a cost required for constructing hardware. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for changing a color gamut of a color image includes a three-dimensional differential look-up table(100), a color interpolator(200), and an adder(300). The three-dimensional differential look-up table stores a difference between an input value corresponding to upper n bits of an input color image and three-dimensional color conversion data of the input value. The color interpolator carries out three-dimensional interpolation using three-dimensional conversion data output from the three-dimensional differential look-up table and three-dimensional color data corresponding to lower m bits of the input image. The adder receives the output of the color interpolator and the input color image to output a color-changed final image.
