PURPOSE: A method for measuring the time of packet's stay on the Internet and processing service quality based on the time is provided to realize effective packet scheduling and packet disuse policy, thereby improving the quality of Internet service. CONSTITUTION: A real-time clock function(201) manages and maintains real-time clocks. An IP(Internet Protocol)(202) executes a procedure of Internet communication. A packet input time recording function(203) records real-time clocks when packets are generated and are initially inputted to the Internet in a hop-by-hop expanded header area of IP packets. A packet stay time inspecting function(204) inspects whether the time of packet's stay exceeds stay time display upper value. If so, the packet stay time inspecting function(204) sets up time excess bits. A packet stay time based service quality processing function(205) executes high-grade service quality processing by using the packet stay time. |
