PURPOSE: A device for controlling a desktop of an optical recording medium reproduction system is provided to select one of desktop contents, and to store the selected desktop in a memory, then to set the selected contents to a desktop of a reproduction system. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium loading portion(100) is where an optical recording medium is load. A memory(140) stores a browsing means for displaying desktop contents on a display(150) and desktop data set in a reproduction system. When the recording medium is loaded on the loading portion(100), a control block(130) displays the desktop data on the display(150) by using the browsing means stored in the memory(140). If one of the desktop contents is selected, the control block(130) stores the selected desktop in the memory(140), and sets the stored desktop as a desktop of the reproduction system.
