PURPOSE: A display and sensor device is provided which has a sensing function by integrating an additional circuit to the side of an active matrix without the degradation of image quality. CONSTITUTION: All electronic devices are integrated on a substrate(1), and a display source driver(4) is arranged at a top edge of a matrix(6), and a gate driver(5) is arranged along a left edge of the matrix. The display substrate device further includes an output device arranged along a bottom edge of the matrix. A display and sensor device comprises a plurality of sense amplifiers(20) which are enabled by a control signal from a circuit(2) and are connected to a column electrode. The output of the sense amplifier is supplied to an analog digital conversion block(21). The output of the conversion block is connected to a read shift register(22), and the read shift register converts parallel output data into serial output data and then supplies it to a sense output(23).
