SELF-VACCINE SUPPLY METHOD FOR DISK DRIVE AND DEVICE, CAPABLE OF TUNING DISK DRIVE PERFORMANCE ACCORDING TO OPERATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

PURPOSE: A self-vaccine supply method for a disk drive is provided to update an RCO(Read Channel Optimization) parameter database through self-vaccination with regards to a pre-tested temperature area. CONSTITUTION: A program system determines the time when a disk drive operates at the second temperature outside the first temperature area to generate an RCO parameter list for the second temperature area(2012). The system performs an RCO process for the second temperature area to generate the RCO parameter list(2022). Whenever the disk drive operates in the second temperature area, the disk drive accesses optional tracks included in a track sequence based on the RCO parameter list(2032). The system determines the time when the RCO parameter list satisfies a certain aging condition(2042). Whenever the RCO parameter list satisfies the aging condition, the system performs an RCO process for more than one temperature area to update an RCO parameter list for the more than one temperature area(2052).
