PURPOSE: A high speed frame decoding method is provided which determines the decoding of a transmission unit frame according to an error detection and correction checking. CONSTITUTION: The high speed frame decoding method includes a step of performing a checking for error detection and correction in a length unit of a shorter frame inserted into the whole frame, as to the whole frame of a transmission unit. And the method also includes a step of deciding the decoding of the whole frame in the transmission unit, according to the checking result in the previous step. After the decoding decision, a decoding as to the whole transmission unit frame is performed by replacing frame symbol of a good section with meaningless virtual value. As to 20ms frame transmission unit, a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Code) for error correction is performed in the unit of 5ms frame(S1,S2). And then it is decided whether to decode 20ms frame transmission unit. After the decoding decision, a decoding as to the 20ms frame transmission unit frame is performed by replacing GOOD 5ms frame symbol with meaningless virtual value. When the above 5ms frame section is a fixed number or above the fixed number(S4,S6), the decoding as to the 20ms frame transmission unit is not performed(S5). When the above 5ms frame section is below the fixed number(S7), the decoding as to the 20ms frame transmission unit is performed after replacing the 5ms frame symbol with the meaningless virtual value 0 (S9).
