PURPOSE: An LCD device is provided to control a turn ratio of a transformer according to an operated state of a lamp based on an output voltage of the lamp, to change size of a voltage applied to the lamp. CONSTITUTION: An inverter(920) applies a voltage to a lamp, and flickers the lamp. A lamp current sensor(940) detects a voltage related to a current flowing into the lamp, and outputs the detected voltage as a feedback signal. An inverter controller(930) compares a brightness control voltage with the feedback signal, and controls the inverter(920) according to compared results. The inverter(920) includes a transformer(T1) for boosting the applied voltage, and a voltage sensor(928) for sensing the applied voltage. A turn ratio of the transformer(T1) is controlled according to the sensed voltage.
