PURPOSE: An image reproducing apparatus and an image reproducing method are provided to easily recognize a date when an image is photographed. CONSTITUTION: A recording element(48) records photographed image data in connection with photographing information of the corresponding photographed image data. A first display control element sets up the predetermined number of display areas on a display screen of a display element(18). A display area selecting element selects the display area to display the recorded photographed image data based on the photographing information. A second display control element displays the photographed image data within the selected display area. A third display control element limits the number of the photographed image data simultaneously displayed in the display area.
