USER AUTHENTICATION METHOD FOR MOBILE ELECTRONIC PAYMENT AND AN APPARATUS THEREOF, CONCERNED WITH AUTHENTICATING A USER THROUGH PICTURE DATA OF THE USER IN ELECTRONIC PAYMENT

PURPOSE: A user authentication method for mobile electronic payment and an apparatus thereof are provided to prevent someone else from using a mobile phone by authenticating a user through picture data of the user in electronic payment. CONSTITUTION: Picture data of a user photographed through a camera of a mobile phone is stored in a memory(S10). When a command key for electronic payment is inputted(S20), a message requesting input of picture data of a user is outputted(S30). The user photographs his/her face image through the camera and inputs picture data(S40). A controller compares whether the input picture data is identical to the picture data previously stored in the memory(S50). If the inputted picture data and the previously stored picture data are identical, the electronic payment is executed(S60).
