The container or pot is made from paper and/or Kraft cardboard such as Frovi (RTM), Mead Kraft RS (RTM) or Kraftpak Cupstock (RTM), using a variety of folding and gluing techniques. The pot has a number of fine slits (4) in one or more of its walls (1, 2, 3) to provide aeration and perforations, generally in its base, to drain off excess water. Variants of the container can be made from recyclable or recycled paper, constructed round a cylindrical or square tube to provide a good printing surface, and fitted with a separate base. The upper edges of the container can be made with one or more folded layers (7) for extra strength, and the label can be made as part of the container or separately from it and attached by a hot-melt adhesive.
