PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the breadth of an engine without arranging a tensioner and a gear train 14 of a wrapping transmission device in a lateral line. SOLUTION: In this engine, a crank gear 3 is clearance-fitted to a crank gear fitting shaft part 6 of a crankshaft 1, and a plurality of mounting bolts 8 are arranged on an imaginary circle 7 centering on a crankshaft axis 5. These mounting bolts 8 are passed through a flywheel 2, and the mounting bolts 8 are screw-fitted to internal thread parts 9 in the crankshaft 1. With this fastening force, the crank gear 3 and the flywheel 2 are jointly fastened to the crankshaft 1. In joint fastening, the mounting bolts 8 are passed through the crank gear 3, and the crank gear 3 is clamped between the flywheel 2 and an end journal 4 on the flywheel 2 side. In installing the wrapping transmission device, the wrapping transmission device and the gear train 14 are separately arranged at the front and rear end parts of a cylinder block 11.
