Arrangement for influencing a mass flow meter of an instantaneous water heater has a bypass (9) to the main water flow (2) with a float chamber (5). The float chamber has a larger inlet (4) than outlet (5) opening. When the float sinks, i.e. air in the chamber, the main flow is blocked, while the flow in the bypass is less that the switch-on threshold of the flow meter. When the float rises the bypass current still flows and assists in keeping the float in its high position.
