It is intended to provide a pyrimidine derivative represented by the following general formula (I), which has an antiinflammatory effect and a TARC and/or MDC function-controlling effect and is useful in treating and/or preventing various diseases in which T cells participate, for example, allergic diseases, autoimmune diseases, rejection at transplantation and so on: (I) wherein Ar represents optionally substituted aryl, etc.; R<1> represents -NR<2>R<3> (wherein R<2> represents hydrogen or optionally substituted lower alkyl; and R<3> represents optionally substituted lower alkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl, etc.); A represents a single bond, a group represented by the following general formula (III): (III) (wherein m<1> is an integer of from 0 to 2; n<1> is an integer of from 0 to 4; a<1> represents a possible number of substituents including 0; and R<5> represents optionally substituted lower alkyl, etc., provided that R<5>'s may be either the same or different in the case where a<1> is 2 or more); and Q represents -NR<6>R<7> (wherein R<6> and R<7> may be either the same or different and each represents hydrogen, optionally substituted alicyclic heterocyclic group, etc.), an optionally substituted alicyclic heterocyclic group, optionally substitutedpiperidin-4-ylamino, etc.; its quaternary ammonium salt, pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, etc.
