摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the optical power of modulation light (signal light) taking return light to the modulation light into consideration, in an optical subscriber device for adjusting the optical power of the modulation light which is the one that that modulates and turns back continuous light supplied from an office device. <P>SOLUTION: An optical subscriber device is connected to an office device with an optical fiber transmission path of loss L [dB], conducts intensity modulation for the continuous light of a single wavelength supplied from the office device, and transmits it to the office device. The optical subscriber device comprises an optical modulating means for inputting the continuous light of the single wavelength from a port connected to the optical fiber transmission path and turning back modulation light intensity-modulated by a transmitted signal of about 1/2 mark rate from the same port to the optical fiber transmission path, an optical amplifying means for amplifying the optical power of the continuous light or the modulation light, and an optical power adjusting means for adjusting the optical power of the modulation light so that the gain of the optical power of the modulation light becomes a value ranging from L-4.5 [dB] to L+1.5 [dB] in relation to the optical power of the continuous light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
