PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk which aims at miniaturization, high-capacitance, price reduction and the like of a hard disk drive and the like and has desired magnetic characteristics even though a glass substrate is used as the substrate of the magnetic disk. SOLUTION: Film deposition is successively performed by sputtering on the glass substrate 1 on which texture is formed. First, an amorphous Cr alloy layer containing CrTi as a first amorphous base layer 2a and an amorphous Cr alloy layer containing CrNb as a second amorphous base layer 2b are deposited to form an amorphous base layer 2. Secondly, the substrate is heated and AlRu and CrMo are film-deposited as a seed layer 3 and a orientation controlling layer 4, respectively. CoCrTa, Ru and CoCrPtB are further film-deposited as a first magnetic layer 5a, a exchange coupled film 5b and a second magnetic layer 5c, respectively, to form a magnetic layer 5. A protective layer 6 and a lubricating layer 7 are finally provided to obtain the magnetic disk 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
